This is a model of TreeHawk, created with Imagine 2.0, and it`s one of my personal favourites.
If you`re wondering what TreeHawk is, it`s from Gerry Andersons
TerraHawks, and it lived in a tree. Hence the name TREEHawk. Geddit?
But seriously, folks, it is a shuttle-type thing that buzzes backwards
and forwards between Hawknest and SpaceHawk.
The wings open out for atmospheric flight and the legs extend to, err..
land on. The angles and distances are:-
Wings:- Rotate 53.6860 degrees, then rotate wingtips 130 degrees
Front leg:- Translate Z -17.9769
Rear leg:- Rotate strut 140.5993 degrees, but at the same time rotate the foot 140.5993 in the opposite direction, so the overall effect is that the foot stays flat as the leg swings out.
My completed projects to date are:-
Imperial Star Destroyer
Aliens APC
Crypt Ship
Galileo Shuttlecraft
TerraHawk
Phoenix missile |
|<-Aborted F-14 Tomcat
Sidewinder missile |
Angel Interceptor
and my pride and joy,
The Incom T-65 X-Wing fighter. With opening wings and cockpit, and landing gear, it is highly, no, very, very, highly detailed and takes up a disk and a bit.
The model requires 8 meg to render, and is in bits because I haven`t got enough memory to bung it together.
They are big bits though.
Next from the stable will (hopefully) be the Dropship from Aliens, at a detail level higher than the X-Wing. Sod knows how big it`ll turn out.
Comments to sce@cs.man.ac.uk, especially if you emailed me about the AliensAPC between July-September `94 and didn`t get a reply. Sorry.
